The Crescer Project, formerly known as “Cria de Favela”, was an initiative founded by activist and congressman David Miranda to promote the social development of the Jacarezinho favela. It was later renamed “Crescer iDM” after the creation of the Instituto David Miranda (iDM), which brings together David’s initiatives across different areas.

Crescer provides a safe environment for children in vulnerable situations and also supports their families. The project offers jiu-jitsu classes, helping to build discipline, self-esteem, and teamwork; English lessons, which expand horizons and future opportunities; and a Solidarity Kitchen, which distributes meals and offers cooking workshops, primarily for mothers.
